The drama between tech giants is really heating up.

A few weeks ago, Meta began poaching talent from OpenAI.

This led to drama between Mark Zuckerberg and Sam Altman.

Well, it didn’t stop there.

Yesterday Sam Altman and Elon Musk got into a public argument:

It certainly appears Musk is frustrated by the popularity of ChatGPT.

That and he doesn’t trust Altman in general.

Regardless, Altman clapped back.

Personally, I find it hard to believe that Elon would never use X.com to his advantage.

That said, his AI bot Grok even sides with Sam in this case!

Long story short, the race for AGI is getting hot, and the stakes are high.

Let’s hope whoever wins has the good of humanity in mind.

AI Bot Offered To U.S. Agencies For $1

Anthropic said federal agencies can use its Claude chatbot for one dollar per agency for a year. Claude is now on the approved vendor list alongside ChatGPT and Gemini, which makes purchases and pilots straightforward for government teams.

This lowers the barrier for agencies to roll out AI on help desks, records, and forms, which creates follow-on work for contractors and integrators.

The Update:

  • If you work in government, ask IT if your office can join the $1 pilot and start with one small task like voicemail-to-text or form triage.

  • If you are a contractor, add a one-page “AI pilot” section to proposals with a clear before-and-after time savings.

  • Job hunters: set USAJOBS alerts for “AI specialist” and “automation analyst.”

Entry-level Coding Jobs Shrink

Bootcamps and junior dev hiring are under pressure as companies use AI for basic coding and documentation. VC data cited shows new-grad tech hiring down about 50% from pre-pandemic levels, and leaders are saying more routine tasks now go to AI.

The signal is the same as a soft freeze for junior roles, justified by “efficiency.”

The Update:

  • Early-career tech workers: show you can use AI, not compete with it. Put small portfolio projects that combine retrieval, testing, and deployment on your resume.

  • Mid-career folks: lean into roles that supervise AI output like QA, data curation, compliance, and integration.

  • Parents and grads: widen the net to hands-on jobs that AI cannot do remotely yet, like field tech, networking, and facilities IT.

Best Buy Shifts Tech Jobs to India

Best Buy plans to grow its Bengaluru tech hub from roughly 350 to about 500 roles, with openings in AI engineering, software, and product.

That means more build work moves offshore while U.S. teams focus on product ownership and customer-facing integration. Expect similar patterns at other retailers pushing AI faster.

The Update:

  • U.S. candidates: target product manager, solutions architect, and vendor-management roles that own requirements and customer outcomes.

  • Teams working with offshore partners: write down who owns data pipelines, model monitoring, and on-call support to avoid gaps.

  • Investors: listen for retailers talking about offshore AI hubs and margin expansion on earnings calls.
