The Process of Projects
I look at this through the lens of project planning.
Choosing the wrong project can cost tens of thousands of dollars

You MUST have a system for planning projects and learning
Before I decide to start a project I ask myself a few questions.
What is the goal?
I want to reduce bounce rate by 20% and increase website purchase conversions.
Why this project? why? why? why? - Get to the root of the problem you’re trying to solve. When you get clear on WHY, you may find other avenues
Example: I want an AI chatbot on my website. WHY? I want to increase speed to lead time. Why? 78% of leads go with the first company that responds. Why? They get the answers they’re looking for.
What is the cost of not working the project? Assign a REAL dollar value ($10k, $100k, $1M, $10M, $100M)
Example: My website bounce rate is 60%. An AI chatbot that engages prospects could reduce bounce rate by 20%, leading to an additional 10 sales per month resulting in $100k monthly revenue.
What is the timeline? - It is VITAL you have a timeline in place to ensure projects don’t drag.
Week 1: Collect training resources
Week 2: Train bot and activate on website
Week 3: Assess results and adjust
What is the Return On Investment? - Give a ballpark estimate at least
Bot setup $10k, bot maintenance $1k, Monthly increase to EBITDA $25k ($14k per month ROI)
How will we measure success?
Time to activate, increased revenue, speed to lead increase, profits
When I don’t have a framework for choosing work I end up overwhelmed.
When teams don’t have frameworks they end up starting long, expensive projects that go nowhere.

Trump signed an executive order to add a $100,000 application fee to H1B Visa applications.
The White house claims the program was designed to bring in temporary workers to perform high skill functions, but it has been exploited to replaced American workers.
They site the amount of foreign STEM workers doubled from 2000-2019 (1.2M - 2.5M), despite overall STEM employment only increasing 44.5%.
The Update:
This move will certainly help college STEM graduates. It could result in higher costs for consumers and increase AI adoption amongst tech companies.
We should focus on what we can control. Upskill, network, be ready when opportunities present themselves.

What is your main goal for using AI?
Fiverr announced it is firing 30% of staff, more than 250 people. Not because of bad numbers. Q2 revenue grew nearly 15% to $108 million. EBITDA targets are 25% of revenue.
The move is about reinvesting in AI automation and hiring native AI talent.
The CEO said Fiverr must return to startup mode and build a clean AI focused infrastructure. Middle management is being cut, bureaucracy flattened, and freelancers themselves may be replaced by AI tools.
The Update:
Fiverr is yet another example of companies rethinking how they serve customers.
