This week a friend told me he cancelled software subscriptions and saved himself $1000 monthly.

He explained he’s using AI to build apps and replace tools in his tech stack.

He has no experience writing code.

Using Chat GPT and Grok, he’s been able to successfully build small programs and cancel expensive software.

I’ve used a lot of AI tools over the past few years.

Chat GPT, Replit, Zapier, Grok, Castmagic, Fathom, Riverside, Swell, Envato, Canva, Gemini, and many more.

But I’ve never been more excited than I am today.

I see 2026 as the year of the AI agent.

This week, I began Integrating Claude Cowork with layers of my Tech stack. Slack, Hubspot, Notion, Clickup, Google, Ahrefs, and other software are feeding into my AI assistant.

Github offers many Claude plugins

But why is this important?

Automating busy work with AI is the biggest lever we have.

Let’s get biblical for a moment.

Genesis 39 tells the story of Joseph being sold into slavery to an Egyptian man named Potiphar.

The Lord was with Joseph, and Potiphar quickly recognized he was different.

Soon Joseph was promoted to head of all Potiphar’s affairs and possessions.

Later, Joseph was promoted to 2nd in command of all of Egypt, only behind the Pharoah

AI Agents are not gods, but they give us an advantage and immense opportunity.

Over the coming weeks, I’ll share exactly how I’ve used Claude to streamline workflows and scale the businesses I’m working with.

PS: Would you be interested in a Claude Cowork workshop?

WiseTech Fires 2,000 Coders

WiseTech Global plans to cut roughly 29 percent of its workforce. The logistics software company employs more than 7,000 people and builds cloud software across 195 countries through its CargoWise platform. More than 17,000 companies rely on it.

CEO Zubin Appoo said the era of manually writing code as the core act of programming, developing, and engineering is over. Projects that once took six or seven months can now be completed in a day. Founder Richard White said the same thing, saying the era of manually written code is ending.

WiseTech introduced AI agents inside CargoWise last year. The stock rose 11.1 percent and the company reported first half profit of $114.5 million.

This also comes after pressure around the company since 2024 following leadership controversy involving Richard White. The AI overhaul may be part of an effort to reset momentum.

Elon Musk recently said that by the end of 2026 people may not bother writing code because AI will generate it directly. Stripe founder Patrick Collison described the future of software like pizza made fresh on demand.

The impact will not stop with software coders. Data entry clerks, shipment coordinators, documentation processors, and junior compliance analysts are also exposed.

Shutterstock Owned Envato Cuts 200 Jobs

Envato, the creative asset marketplace owned by Shutterstock, plans to cut about 1/3 of its employees as AI reshapes the digital design economy.

Envato provides templates, graphics, stock footage, and creative assets used by freelancers, agencies, and businesses around the world. For years the model was simple. Designers create assets once, upload them, and thousands of customers buy them later.

AI is breaking that model.

Design tools can now generate logos, graphics, marketing images, and website layouts instantly. What once required browsing asset marketplaces can now be produced on demand with prompts.

That puts pressure on platforms built around large libraries of pre made content.

Instead of searching through thousands of templates, users can create exactly what they want in seconds.

AI Agents: The New Digital Employees

Companies are beginning to deploy AI agents as operational workers inside their organizations.

These agents can handle research, document review, customer support, coding assistance, and data analysis. Instead of one employee moving information between systems, multiple AI agents can coordinate tasks across workflows.

But companies are discovering something important. AI agents require management.

They need monitoring, task boundaries, access permissions, and human oversight. Without supervision they can produce incorrect outputs, misinterpret instructions, or access the wrong information.

So a new role is emerging inside companies. People responsible for supervising and coordinating AI agents.

The workforce is not only shrinking in some areas. It is reorganizing around systems that combine human decision making with automation.
