A new Stanford study shows men between twenty two and twenty five have lost about sixteen to twenty percent of entry jobs in software, customer service, and translation since late 2022. Older workers kept their spots while doors for young men closed.

Government Opens AI Training Fund

On August 26 the Department of Labor announced that states can now use federal money to pay for AI training. States will add AI lessons to current youth, adult, and displaced worker programs.

These classes will teach how to write prompts, check data, and use AI tools in jobs like healthcare, retail, transport, and finance.

Half of Workers Say Offices Will Die

A survey of twenty five hundred workers and IT leaders in six countries found that fifty one percent believe AI will make offices unnecessary. Almost half said AI makes remote work more productive than being in person.

For companies this means smaller office budgets and heavier use of software to manage projects. For workers it means less commuting but more pressure to stay focused and deliver results.

Twenty Year Olds Paid Two Hundred Thousand

The Wall Street Journal reports that young workers with less than three years of AI experience got pay raises of about twelve percent this year. Many now earn base salaries near two hundred thousand dollars.

Stock and bonuses often push their total pay even higher. Companies such as Databricks and Scale AI are fighting to hire young talent. Some new hires are still in school. Recruiters are even reaching out to teenagers who built AI apps.
